ZACHARY, LA (WAFB) - A Zachary couple who spent a month waiting to move into their FEMA trailer shared some great news Wednesday.
"Very thankful," said Leroy Shanklin. "Very, very, very thankful. And, also my wife is very thankful. First thing that came to my mind, 'Why it took so long?' And, all of a sudden, you're able to do all of this in one day and you couldn't do it in one month?"
A crew arrived Wednesday morning to hook up the sewer line and install an electrical pole.
Shanklin, a flood victim, said he was also told a crew would finally install steps to his FEMA mobile home.
