BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Investigators said they have not yet determined what started a fire that caused significant damage to a home Tuesday afternoon, but they stated foul play is not suspected.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported it happened on Jackson Avenue near Plank Road around 3 p.m.
Mark Miles with BRFD said responding firefighters found flames in the back of the home. He added no one was home at the time of the fire and the homeowner told firemen he had just left the house.
According to Miles, the house had heavy fire and smoke damage.
