Victims identified in Walker wreck that left one woman dead

WALKER, LA (WAFB) - One woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a two vehicle wreck near Walker on Sunday afternoon, and three others were moderately injured.

The Walker Police Department responded to a two vehicle wreck that occurred around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, December 4 on US 190 near the intersection of Hwy. 449. The initial investigation revealed that a pickup truck, driven by Robert C. Kelly, 44, of Denham Springs, was traveling eastbound when it crossed the center line and traveled to the westbound shoulder, then pulled back onto the road and collided head on with a truck traveling westbound.

Shelly Lynn Foster Kelly, 46, also of Denham Springs, was the passenger in Kelly's truck. It is currently unknown if the two are related. They were both taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The westbound traveling truck was being driven by Chase Lanoux, 29, of Pride. He suffered moderate injuries and was also transported to a local hospital for treatment. Lanoux's passenger, Nikki Renee Lambert, 29, of Baton Rouge, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner's Office. Officials say Lambert was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred. All other victims were properly restrained.

"We are continuing to investigate this tragic accident. We have collected witness statements and physical evidence from the scene and are awaiting toxicology reports on the victims, as well as the autopsy report on Ms. Lambert. Charges are pending the results of the investigation," said Walker Police Captain John Sharp.

Officials say US 190 was closed for approximately 2.5 hours following the wreck. The crash remains under investigation.
