BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Fire Department is partnering with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System Career and Technical Education Department to host "A Day with the Baton Rouge Fire Department."
The event will introduce students to the academic, training, and skill requirements needed to have a career with the fire department. Students will be able to participate in daily activities performed by firemen while on duty. After participating in the event, students will have the option to choose a jump start pathway at their school to to prepare them for a career with the fire department.
Firefighter with BRFD will provide a mentoring program for interested students. Broadmoor High, Glen Oaks High, and Scotlandville Magnet High will be the first schools to participate in the event, which will be held Monday, December 5 at the BRFD Headquarters from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
