Livingston Parish sets debris pickup deadline

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - The Livingston Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (LOHSEP) has announced all August flood-related debris should be placed on the curb by Saturday, December 17.

This deadline does not include locations within Denham Springs city limits or state road right-of-ways.

Please notify LOHSEP by December 17 of your debris and its location via email at, or on the LOHSEP website at You can also call 225-686-3066. Please only call if you do not have internet access.

If the debris cannot be placed on the curb, a contractor will have to enter your property to remove the debris, meaning a Right of Entry form will need to be filled out and turned in via the above mentioned options by December 17. Right of Entry forms can be downloaded here. Forms can also be requested by email or picked up at the LOHSEP office, located at 20355 Government Blvd. in Livingston.

Only debris from the flooding will be picked up. This includes building materials, carpet, drywall, furniture, lumber, mattresses, plumbing, appliances, white goods (air conditioners, dishwashers, freezers, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, and water heaters), and electronics (computers, radios, stereos, televisions, and other devices with a cord).

Items from new construction, such as leftover drywall, tiles, carpet, lumber, etc. cannot be removed by the parish or its debris removal contractor.
