YOUR TURN: FEMA money

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

This your Turn segment goes to Brittany Curran. Curran reacted on our Facebook page to the story about Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards trip to Washington to try to get more flood relief money.

Curran and many others affected by the flood, say they still desperately need help, but she’s not confident additional funds will end up helping her and her family. Here it is in her own words:

But who is going to receive the money? Families, like mine, are still living in hotel rooms or tenes because we can’t find anything to rent because of greedy landlords. I wish they would make a list of where all this money is going to because I haven’t seen or heard of it going anywhere. Everyone I know is still in the same situation they were months ago. It’s really sad and I hope it gets better soon. Many families like mine had to spend Thanksgiving in a hotel room or a tent and will have to spend Christmas there too, unfortunately.

That’s Brittany Curran’s turn. Now it’s your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, visit us on Facebook or send an email to yourturn@wafb.com.
