Woman shot to death while sitting in vehicle on N. 47th Street

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a woman Wednesday evening.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported it happened on North 47th Street, which is off Gus Young Avenue, around 7:45 p.m.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner confirms that the victim is 19-year-old April Netter. 

Detectives said Netter was shot multiple times while sitting in a vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officials say another individual was in the vehicle with Netter when the shooting occurred. However, that person was not injured. 

Investigators have not yet identified a suspect and don’t know the motive for the shooting.
