BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Even the principal of Glen Oaks Elementary School was surprised by the generosity bomb that was delivered Wednesday.
Car loads of brand new school supplies pulled up and real estate people from SVN Commercial Real Estate started unloading them. Even the kids got involved.
This is what happens when the wife of a partner in a national firm is a teacher and says, "Honey, those flood schools need help." SVN's 100 offices in America did this for Glen Oaks Elementary, which is now housed in the old Banks Elementary building.
"iPads, we got pencils, we got a projection screen, calculators for the older students," said Brittany Dyer, a teacher at the school. "We got everything. Books, everything."
"Some schools still don't have supplies," said Naliah Russ, a student. "But I'm thankful that we have supplies."
Ben Graham, a partner in SVN talked to the principal of Glen Oaks Elementary, who was happily stunned to see the riches rolling in for his school.
