Mississippi high school running back receives a visit from Coach Orgeron

Clinton, MS -

Newly named LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is on the recruiting path with one of the nation's top running backs on his radar.

On Monday night, Clinton High School running back Cam Akers tweeted this picture of Coach Orgeron and LSU running backs coach Jabbar Juluke.

Akers is considered to be the top prospect in Mississippi and has been named to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl East team.

Akers has put up some impressive stats this season for the Clinton Arrows. His passing totals include 2,900 yards for the season and an average of 207.1 per game. He also leads his team in rushing with 134.9 yards per game.

LSU is one of 10 schools currently being considered by Akers. 

National signing day is February 1, 2017.
