Guice receives national honor after record-setting night

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU sophomore sensation Derrius Guice has been named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week after a record setting night against the Aggies. 

Thanksgiving night in College Station, TX, Guice set a new single-game school record with 285 yards rushing, on 37 carries and four touchdowns. 

The Tigers defeated the Aggies 54-39 to finish the regular season with a 7-4 record.

Guice scored on runs of 45, 45, 6 and 1 yard in the victory. He is now one of four players in SEC history to have multiple 250-yard games in a season, joining Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker and Moe Williams.

The Tigers totaled 622 yards of offense against Texas A&M, including 298 yards on the ground.
