A Baton Rouge woman was arrested Wednesday after allegedly beating a man with a turkey and holding a knife to his throat.

Officers were dispatched to the home on Oaklon Dr. after receiving a call that the complainant's mother and father were arguing in the kitchen and the mother, Helen Jackson, 52, was holding a knife to the father's throat.

According to the report, when officers entered the kitchen, they found Jackson and the victim standing face to face, yelling at each other. Jackson was separated from the victim, who stated she had put a knife to his throat and hit him with the turkey he was trying to cook.

Jackson initially claimed they were not arguing and that she did never had a knife, but later admitted there was a knife involved, but only because she took it from the victim, who was cleaning the turkey with it.

Jackson was arrested and booked on charges of aggravated assault and domestic abuse battery.
