Woman's body found in Baton Rouge identified

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Homicide detectives are investigating the body of a woman that was found Thursday evening. She has now been identified as Roxann Bond, 47, of Dry Prong. 

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported the body was discovered on East Industrial Dr. between Airline Hwy. and Greenwell Springs Rd. around 7 p.m. Her name has not been released. According to the East Baton Rouge Coroner, the cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds to the head.

Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. with BRPD said officers were called out because the woman appeared to be unresponsive on the side of the road. He added arriving units saw that she was dead.

According to Coppola, investigators have not yet identified a suspect or established a motive in the homicide.
