Texas A&M students raise $50,000 for LSU flood victims

COLLEGE STATION, TX (WAFB) - Although LSU and Texas A&M may be fierce rivals on the football field, it doesn't mean the schools do not care about each other in a time of need.

Aggie students have raised $50,000 for flood victims of the LSU family.

The fundraising campaign named 'Side-by-Side' started on Nov. 15 and will culminate with a check presentation during the football game between LSU and Texas A&M Thursday night in College Station.

Half of the proceeds raised by the school will benefit LSU students and the other half will go to LSU faculty and staff members affected by the flooding.

The Tigers and Aggies kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Thanksgiving night in Kyle Field. The game will air on ESPN.
