ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Ascension Parish has established a schedule for the remainder of debris pickup in the parish.
As of November 18, the public debris drop off location at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center is closed. All household and hazardous waste goods will be picked up by November 23.
Only construction and demolition debris will be picked up after November 23. There will also be a brief halt of debris pickup during the holidays. Officials are coordinating the pickup of debris along state highways as well. The schedule for remaining debris pickup is as follows:
- Nov. 23 - Dec. 4: No pickup in observance of Thanksgiving holiday
- Dec. 5 - Dec. 22: Construction and demolition debris removal operations resume
- Dec. 22 - Jan. 8: No pickup in observance of Christmas holiday
- Jan. 9 - Jan. 20: Final pass parish-wide (debris must be pushed to the curb no later than Jan. 9 in order for final pass to be made)

Residents may also visit the Ascension Parish Government Complex, Room 105, located at 615 East Worthey Rd. in Gonzales between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, to complete an application.
