Pilot Flying J reopening in Denham Springs following historic flooding

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - Pilot Flying J announced that it will reopen its location in Denham Springs following the historic flooding in August on November 19.

The travel center will once again feature full amenities to the public while also bringing back 40 local jobs.

"The flooding may have forced us to close our doors for a period of time, but just like the Denham Springs community, we look forward to coming back even stronger. It was a top priority for us to re-establish our presence here in Denham Springs and continue to serve the local community as the city works toward restoration," said Ken Parent, president of Pilot Flying J.

The new facility on 2601 South Range Ave. will include features such as:

60 parking spaces, five diesel fuel pumps, three showers, 10 cooler doors

PJ Fresh, quick casual food options, including soup, salads, sandwiches, and hot dogs

Premium coffee and cappuccino options

Everyday products for quick shopping needs

Pilot Flying J also donated two trailer loads worth of drywall, valued at $17,000, to Convoy of Hope, a humanitarian organization that provides assistance to those affected by disasters. The drywall was distributed throughout the Livingston Parish community to assist with rebuilding efforts.

"Our organization's goal is to give hope to the impoverished and suffering throughout the world - which includes those impacted by August's flooding in the Denham Springs area. Through their donation, Pilot Flying J contributes toward this all-important work and joins the growing network of partners which plays an instrumental role in our ongoing efforts," said Hal Donaldson, president of Convoy of Hope.

"The rebuilding of the Pilot Travel Center in Denham Springs and partnership with Convoy of Hope is one of the many reasons why I'm proud of the Pilot Flying J team. I am excited to see how we can continue to grow our relationship with the community and work together to rebuild this great city," said Kevin Kuhn, regional manager of Pilot Flying J.
