NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The Saints hit the highest of highs after a Drew Brees to Brandin Cooks 32-yard touchdown reception, but the Black and Gold fell to the lowest of lows on the very next play. Tied at 23, Will Lutz's extra point was blocked and returned by Will Parks for two points, giving the Broncos a 25-23 victory.

The Saints scored twenty points in the second half, courtesy of three Brees' touchdown passes. Two to Willie Snead, covering three and five yards, and the Cooks haul at the end of the contest. Brees finished the game going 21 of 29 passing, for 303 yards, but also threw two interceptions.

Another culprit in the Saints loss was two lost fumbles by rookie Michael Thomas. His two turnovers resulted in 10 points for the Broncos.
