9 Picks: Tigers, Jags on the road; Saints host defending Super Bowl champs

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU looks to bounce back after a physical battle against Alabama, Southern is looking for number seven in a row and the Saints try to stay in the playoff hunt against the Super Bowl champions.

9 Games, 9Picks:

No. 24 LSU (5-3) at No. 25 Arkansas (6-3)
This will be a big test for interim head coach Ed Orgeron. Will the Tigers once again take a late season dive or will they bounce back and play a complete game against the Razorbacks? Arkansas is coming off a 31-10 victory over Florida and will have momentum going into Saturday's showdown. The difference? Arkansas gives up just under 200 rushing yards per game. Coach O will have those Tigers hungry for a victory.

Southern (6-2) at Prairie View A&M (6-3)
Prairie View A&M is a half-game back of Southern and Grambling in the SWAC West standings. The Jags are looking for their seventh victory in a row after losses to Tulane and ULM at the beginning of the season. Southern is road tested after playing five games away from A.W. Mumford Stadium, winning three of those games. Southern will get win number seven, but it won't be easy.

Southern at Prairie View: Game Preview

Broncos (6-3) at Saints (4-4)
The Saints have won three out of their last four games and are a game out of the playoff race. The Broncos have been hit with several key injuries on offense and defense. They are also struggling to throw the ball downfield. This game is set up perfect for a Saints win.

Mississippi State (4-5) at No. 1 Alabama  (9-0)
The Bulldogs are coming off a 35-28 shocker over Texas A&M, while Alabama beat LSU in a physical battle. Mississippi State hangs with the Tide for about a quarter and then you know what happens.
Alabama 41, Mississippi State 13

No. 9 Auburn (7-2) at Georgia (5-4)
Auburn is on a roll playing both good defense and offense. The Bulldogs have struggled in SEC play, losing four of seven. Auburn's run game will be too much for Georgia.

Ole Miss (4-5) at No. 8 Texas A&M (7-2)
It's the 'battle of the backup quarterbacks' in College Station Saturday night. Ole Miss has lost three of four, and the Aggies have lost two of their last three. The big question for Ole Miss is will head coach Hugh Freeze start Louisiana native Shea Patterson, burning his 2016 redshirt? Won't matter who takes the snaps, Ole Miss cannot stop the run on defense and that will be the difference.

The Jimbo Fisher Watch:
Boston College (4-5) at No. 18 Florida State (6-3)
The Seminoles bounced back from their heartbreaking loss to Clemson two weeks ago with a win against NC State, 24-20. The Eagles have lost three out of their last four. It will be another struggle for FSU, but they will win a snoozer.

No. 16 West Virginia (7-1) at Texas (5-4)
This game has offense written all over it. Both teams average well over 30 points a game. The Longhorns look to win their third game in a row and the Mountaineers are hoping to keep their Big 12 title hopes alive.
UPSET OF THE WEEK: Texas 48, West Virginia 47

No. 20 USC (6-3) at No. 4 Washington (9-0)
