Police believe shooting victim tried to stop robbery at Plank Road business

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Investigators believe a man was shot and killed while trying to stop a robbery near a business located on Plank Road.

The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to the scene of a shooting in the 3100 block of Plank Road around 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Officials said Jonathan Sam, 25, died after being shot near G&T Tires. Detectives believe someone was robbing the business and Sam tried to intervene when he was shot.

Police do not have any suspects at this time.
