Cedric Richmond re-elected to 2nd Congressional District

Kip Holden loses in 2nd Congressional Dist. race

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Incumbent Cedric Richmond has won his re-election in the 2nd Congressional District race with 70 percent of the vote.

The district covers portions of 10 parishes from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. All three candidates were Democrats.

Richmond was running against two other Democrats: Kenneth Cutno East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden, who was term limited after serving for 11 years. Holden also ran unsuccessfully for the lieutenant governor's position in 2015.
