Voting problems reported at a few locations

Voters wait for correct machines to arrive

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Some voters who showed up to cast their ballots right when the polls open ran into some issues.

Officials are aware of the problems and getting them corrected.

Voters at Juban Parc Jr. High and Gray's Creek Elementary in Livingston Parish awaited the correct machines to arrive at those locations.

The correct voting machines arrived at both locations around 7:30 a.m. Patient voters at Juban Parc Jr. High clapped as the machines made their way inside the school.

"This is unacceptable," one voter at Gray's Creek Elementary expressed via email.

Officials with the Louisiana Secretary of State confirmed there was no power at La Belle Aire Elementary early Tuesday morning. They said the voting machines run on battery power and were fine. They added they sent generators to the school to power the lights.
