BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - With the biggest game on the Tiger calendar one day away, LSU fans are filled with anticipation for the match-up against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
A lot of the excitement comes from one man in particular: Coach O. Fans love his enthusiasm and his unmistakable accent. Ed Orgeron changed the course of LSU's season.
"The guy is from here and you've got that hometown mentality," said tailgater Greg Wilson.
"You've got a lot of those national commentators saying they don't understand what he's saying. Every player on that team knows what he is saying. LSU fans, we all know what he's saying," said fan Andrew Baer.
Everyone at LSU has their own take on a Coach O accent. "I try to picture that South Lafourche, and then I try to hone in on a little Cookie Monster," Baer said.
With the most important game just around the corner, LSU fans can only imagine what the coach will say to his players before they take the field in Death Valley.
"It's all about the ball. It's all about the ball," said tailgater Jodi Blankenbaker, doing her best Coach O impersonation.
"We got to play hard, now let's go out there and show them a good show," said Jarrod Schendel, also imitating the interim coach.
LSU takes on Alabama at 7 p.m. Saturday.
