A designated park for FEMA trailers in Denham Springs was receiving a new trailer shipment when the home became snagged on a power line.
The power line caused the insulation in the attic of the trailer to catch fire. Firefighters were able to extinguish the small blaze, but not before enough damage was done to take the trailer out of commission.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The FEMA trailers are being provided to families that suffered major damage to their homes during the historic flooding in August. Thousands of individuals have waited and continue to wait for use of one of these trailers.
