BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

While Alabama beats LSU in offensive and defensive statistics, when taking a closer look, the numbers are very close and, in some cases, nearly identical.

The Crimson Tide and Tigers will battle it out Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

A look at this season's stats:

On offense, Alabama scores 14 points per game more than LSU and passes for 46 more yards than the Tigers.

On defense, the only difference is in the run game. LSU allows 34 more yards per game, but make no mistake about it, both units are dominant.

It should be noted that LSU is averaging 41.6 points per game in the past three games, giving up only 12.6 points per game.
