THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - A woman was arrested during a traffic stop after police say they found her in possession of crystal meth, ecstasy, heroin, and other drugs.
According to the Thibodaux Police Department, the traffic stop occurred on Saturday, Oct. 29 at roughly 9 p.m. Janice David, 28, of Walker was arrested and is being held on a$21,000 bond.
The traffic stop started when the officer allegedly witnessed a vehicle cross the center line of the roadway.
"Officers made contact with the people inside the vehicle, one of the passengers being Janice David," states Officer David Melancon with the Thibodaux Police Department. "During the course of the traffic stop, officers learned that the driver, Christopher Brisco, did not have a valid driver's license. Officers also learned that the MVI sticker had been taken from a Pontiac and placed on the Grand Marquise and the license plate was registered to another vehicle."
The arresting officer allegedly recovered a digital scale inside the vehicle. David is also said to have had drugs in her pocket, as well as in her underwear and in an altoid container that was stuffed in her bra.
David allegedly surrendered the drugs to the officer at the scene. In total they recovered 11.8 grams of meth, 75 ecstasy pills, over half a gram of heroin, 5 Klonopin, 1 gram of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Brisco was issued a citation for the traffic violations.
David was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. She is being held on a $21,000 bond.
