BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

(Last season in LSU's 30-16 loss at Alabama, superstar running back Leonard Fournette was held to just 31 yards rushing on 19 carries. Fournette gained just 13 yards on his first 15 attempts, as the Tigers were out gained 434-182 in the shellacking. No. 15 hosts No. 1 Alabama this Saturday night in Tiger Stadium at 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on WAFB-TV.)

They rolled into Tuscaloosa without a loss,
But trouble immediately began with his first toss,
LSU championship dreams quickly running off track,
And for the Crimson Tide there was no looking back,
The night Leonard Fournette got 31 yards.

They ran him left, up the middle and right,
But creases for LSU, there were none in sight,
A CBS prime time audience watched it all unfold,
And the Tigers fifth straight loss to Bama was so bluntly told,
The night Leonard Fournette got 31 yards.

He had made Auburn look like Pop Warner kids, pounding ahead with room to roam,
And oh, what a showing against Syracuse in the Carrier Dome,
He was the Heisman Trophy favorite without any doubt,
Until Derrick Henry seized that November evening and all of it's clout,
The night Leonard Fournette got 31 yards.

Nearly a year has passed since that painful day,
With many other life lessons for LSU along the way,
There were shootings and floods before the first game,
And shortly after the firing of a head coach, who many look back and blame,
The night Leonard Fournette got 31 yards.

No. 7 is still the best and most amazing you may ever see,
A mountain of muscle that powers LSU to victory,
But many Bama fans are hardly impressed, nor do they care,
For them, there's only one performance to which they all retweet and stare,
The night Leonard Fournette got 31 yards.

The cleats were purple, but from a distance looked black,
And during that last performance against Ole Miss one relentless attack,
Almost 250 yards on his first seven tries,
Yet that one devastating setback from the past still cries,
The night Leonard Fournette got 31 yards.

But menacing Death Valley awaits Saturday night,
With Alabama's last two escapes from Baton Rouge bloody, fist fights,
For the master Nick Saban, more offense to defend on tape,
As Ensingmer, Etling and balance, perhaps give LSU a chance to escape,
The night Leonard Fournette got 31 yards.

For reinvigorated LSU a new, huge opportunity, with a fiery Cajun coach,
As another powerful Crimson Tide squad is making it's intimidating approach,
But perhaps this is the year the planets finally align,
And the Tigers, their fans and Buga can leave far behind,
The night Leonard Fournette got 31 yards.
