YOUR TURN: Shelter at Home

YOUR TURN: Shelter at Home

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - This week's Your Turn segment goes to Shawn Little. Little reacted to our Investigators' report on the state's Shelter at Home program that is designed to help people get back in their homes that were flooded.

Shelter at Home provides temporary repairs, but Little and others are not happy with the program. In his words:

People, this is the biggest scam I have ever seen. They hung less than eight feet of my sheetrock with my screws and drill. They hung a brand new door that they pretty much ruined. And they installed a little sink in bathroom. The total cost of material to them -- no more than $300. Now, while I am more than grateful for any help I can receive, they got paid by the state $5,200 to do this to my house. That's four people who came to my house for less than four hours. That's $306.25 an hour for each of them. And we as tax payers are eating this bill.

That's Shawn Little's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, visit us on Facebook or send an email to
