BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Local leaders unveiled a new project that will bring 46 homes to the area along Nicholson and Washington.
That is where they will ultimately build the Water Campus.
The homes will be a mix of apartments, single family, and duplexes.
A combination of tax credits and grant money will be used on the project.
"There is a constant need of housing, especially after the catastrophic flood," said Jay Daniels, the executive director of Partner for Progress. "So you'll see more development seamlessly integrated into the neighborhood. You'll see a mixed income opportunity created from those housing and we're going to continue on these efforts."
Leaders encourage the people living in south Baton Rouge to apply for the homes when they become available. Although, there is no date set for that yet.
