BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A legal challenge over a stripper's age caught the eye of Louisiana's attorney general.
AG Jeff Landry has asked a federal judge to allow him to intervene in the lawsuit against the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.
ATC is the agency set to enforce the Louisiana law that said a stripper has to be 21 years old.
Another judge has already put the law on hold after dancers said it greatly affects their ability to earn a living.
"As the State's chief legal officer, the Attorney General often defends the constitutionality of statutes passed by our duly elected Legislature. In this particular instance, General Landry is intervening to defend a measure passed 96-0 in the House and 33-0 in the Senate," said Ruth Wisher with the AG's office.
