LSU men's basketball picked to finish 12th in SEC

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A select panel of both SEC and national media members don't think the LSU men's basketball team is going to have a good season. In fact, they picked the Tigers to finish 12th in the SEC.

Kentucky is the overall preseason favorite for the 12th time since the 1998-99 season.

LSU guard Antonio Blakeney was selected to the SEC Second Team. As a freshman, Blakeney averaged 12.6 points per game, shot 42.5 percent from the field and pulled down 3.4 rebounds a contest. He was named to last year's SEC All-Freshman Team.

The 2016-17 campaign begins November 11, with conference play set to begin December 29. The 2017 SEC Tournament will be March 8-12 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
