Suspect wanted by Ascension deputies for multiple burglaries

Ascension deputies search for burglary suspect considered ‘armed and dangerous’

ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Deputies with the  Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office are looking for a suspect wanted for multiple burglaries in the parish.

Officials say they are looking for Eric Troquille after searching the area of Dutchtown Lane and Hwy 74 for several hours Tuesday. Deputies were not able to find him and believe he is no longer in the area.

Troquille is described as a 5-foot-9, 165-pound white male with brown hair and blue eyes. Deputies said he was last seen wearing a white shirt and khaki pants and is possibly carrying a red bag.

The sheriff's office warned early Tuesday afternoon that Troquille was considered armed and dangerous.

After being spotted running from deputies with another suspect, the sheriff's office searched the area of Dutchtown Lane and Hwy 74. Deputies said the second suspect was caught and search dogs from Hunt Correctional Center indicated that Troquille headed towards the Hwy 30 area.

Officials said after searching for five hours, the dogs were pulled from the area.

The sheriff's office wants to ensure the communities of Dutchtown and Geismar that it is safe and extra deputies have been assigned to patrol the area throughout the night.

Anyone with information about Troquille's whereabouts is asked to call APSO at (225) 621-4636 or Crime Stoppers (225) 344-7867.
