La. Workforce Commission to host job fair for those with disabilities

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Louisiana Workforce Commission is sponsoring Diversity Works Job Fairs in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Shreveport during the month of October, which is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Employers are encouraged to register to participate by contacting Georgette Wallace at GWallace1@lwc.la.gov. There is no cost to participate.

The job fair in Baton Rouge will be held on October 26 at 7401 Cortana Plaza (Entrance 4) from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for veterans only and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the general public.

These job fairs are coordinated by the LWC's Office of Workforce Development programs, including the Disability Ticket to Work program, the veterans program, and the Louisiana Rehabilitation Services.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month is led by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy and aims to educate the public about disability employment issues and to celebrate contributions made by those workers in the U.S. with disabilities.
