(WAFB) -

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and residents with any carrier can donate used cell phones, chargers, and accessories at any Verizon store.

Donated phones will be given to domestic violence shelters, enabling domestic violence victims and survivors to use them in times of emergency. HopeLine boxes will be present at Verizon stores so residents can easily drop off devices and accessories.

Verizon is also selling exclusive purple accessories online and in stores during the month of October. They will donate $3 for every HopeLine accessory purchased to Camp HOPE America. Donations will help children involved in domestic situations heal from trauma and work through their emotions and challenges so they can have a brighter future.
