Ascension Catholic's wide receiver Jacoby Stewart had a huge night for the Bulldogs against Ascension Christian in a big 62-16 win, earning him the Sportsline Player of the Week Award.

On the offensive side of the ball, Stewart had 120 yards receiving and two touchdowns, while on the defensive side of the ball, the senior defensive back had three interceptions including one returned for a score.

They were his first touchdowns of the year, So how did he react after the initial score?

"I wanted to stay humble. I didn't want to brag about it because I know I was going to get some more," Stewart said. "I didn't want to showboat too much because I knew it would be a penalty. I mean I wanted some more I was hungry for it. I wanted to keep on scoring."

"We've been waiting for him to showcase what he can do offensively because he's a very talented player at the receiver spot. We just haven't done a great job of getting the ball to him whenever he was open," head coach Drey Trosclair. "When we run sprints after practice he's one of the first ones in the group to finish, I mean, he does a great job of that and it's his senior year. He wants to go out on top and go out having some success."

Stewart and the Bulldogs off to a strong 4-2 start this year after his big night.
