Crime Stoppers: Man accused of setting woman on fire wanted by police

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a man accused of setting a woman on fire.

Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers reported John Harleaux, 28, is wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Investigators said Harleaux and a woman got into an argument on Sept. 24, 2016. They added during the argument, Harleaux allegedly used hairspray and a flame to set the victim on fire.

Officials said the woman suffered second and third degree burns on her left arm, shoulder and back.

Harleaux is described as 5'4" tall and weighs 140 pounds. There is a warrant for his arrest on a charge of domestic abuse battery by burning.
