New Roads mayor pleads 'not guilty' to malfeasance, abuse of power charges

NEW ROADS, LA (WAFB) - New Roads Mayor Robert Myer pleaded "not guilty" Tuesday to nine counts of malfeasance in office and one count of abuse of office.

A motion hearing in the case is set for Jan. 11, 2017.

A grand jury indicted Myer on the charges back in August.

The abuse of office charge alleges that Myer gave a now former city financial director access to the city credit card in exchange for sexual favors.

She reportedly ran up a bill of $9,000.
