BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The deadline to register to vote in the November 8 elections is Tuesday, October 11.
The Louisiana Secretary of State's Press Secretary Meg Casper said 85 percent of residents are registered as eligible voters.
Those interested in registering to vote in Louisiana can sign up by clicking HERE. If you would prefer to register in-person, you can go to the Registrar of Voter's office in your parish.
Registered voters should go online to make sure all of the information listed in the voter profile is correct.
"This is just a great time for you to go ahead and go online check your registration make sure it's up to date make sure your registrar doesn't need any additional information. Another good thing to do right now is to check your precinct location. Because of the flooding, a lot of precincts were damaged. Especially in East Baton Rouge, Livingston and Ascension, voters need to check their precinct and make sure that it hasn't changed," said Casper.
If you don't want to wait in line on Election Day, consider early voting.
It begins October 25 and goes through November 1. You can vote at the Louisiana Archives Building or the Registrar of Voters office, Monday through Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
