BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - This month, you'll have the opportunity to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating blood with United Blood Services.
Every three seconds, a patient receives a life saving blood transfusion. Many cancer patients require blood, platelet, or plasma transfusions. Some patients can use as many as 400 pints of red cells, plasma, and/or platelets during their cancer treatment. When you donate, you are helping to ensure that those in the community in need will have that transfusion.
Donate blood October 1 - 22 and you will receive an "Every Donor Makes a Difference" t-shirt in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month while supplies last. You can donated to United Blood Services in Baton Rouge at 8234 One Calais, the service road at I-10 and Essen Ln. Hours are as follows:
- Monday: 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
