Woman arrested for allegedly trying to kill ex-boyfriend

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

A woman is behind bars for allegedly breaking into the home of her ex-boyfriend and pulling a gun on him.  

According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, Lisa Snowten, 49, is accused of breaking into her ex-boyfriend's home in Gonzales on Wednesday, October 5.  

Investigators say Snowten forced her way into the house shortly after midnight and proceeded to attack her ex.  

"She then pulled the trigger as the gun was pointed at the victim," states a press release, "however, the gun did not discharge."  

Snowten allegedly left that location and then went to place of employment for the victim's current girlfriend.  

"With the assistance of Louisiana State Police, deputies were able to detain Snowten and she was placed under arrest," states the release.  

Snowten is charged with attempted second-degree murder and domestic abuse battery. She was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
