FRANKLIN, LA (WAFB) - Detectives believe a dispute over money led to a shooting in early September.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported Clyde Mitchell, 40, of Franklin, is facing attempted murder and other charges.
Deputies said the shooting happened near an intersection in the community of St. Joseph on September 5. They added the investigation showed several shots were fired at a man and his home.
According to reports, Mitchell was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and illegal possession of a stolen firearm seven days after the shooting.
Authorities said the ongoing investigation into the shooting turned up that Mitchell and the victim knew each other. They added the detective found they had a fight over money.
Officials reported Mitchell turned himself in to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin on Monday.
He was booked on charges of attempted second-degree murder in connection with the shooting. No bond was set.
