BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - It hasn't been the junior season LSU running back Leonard Fournette or fans had hoped for so far. Fournette injured his ankle during camp in August and has been slowed by the injury all season.
Fournette has already missed two of the Tigers' first five games and his longest run from scrimmage is just 35 yards, certainly low for a player known for breaking long runs with regularity.
Some have speculated Fournette has looked disinterested or not engaged with the LSU team, considering the Tigers disappointing start and the fact the NFL is looming. However, sophomore running back Derrius Guice, who's filled in quite well while Fournette has been out, said that is not the case.
