Junior defensive tackle Davon Godchaux was cleared to play in LSU's 42-7 win over Missouri on Saturday. He spoke to the media after the game about the homecoming victory.
Godchaux was originally suspended indefinitely from the team following an arrest earlier in the week. However, he was reinstated to the team as the district attorney announced a day after Godchaux's arrest that his office would not be pursuing charges against Godchaux.
Godchaux, 21, was arrested by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office after an alleged domestic disturbance around 3:30 a.m. Monday. He had also been issued a misdemeanor summons.
The police report noted the conflicting stories between Godchaux and the victim, who was also issued a misdemeanor summons for domestic abuse battery and child endangerment.
"The primary basis for this change of booking was the inconsistent statements of [the victim], the statements of Mr. Godchaux and the physical evidence at the scene, and not her request to dismiss these charges," Moore said in a statement Tuesday.
