BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The men of Baton Rouge got some extra motivation to take care of their health.

"Your health is also the concern of other people, people who depend on you, whether it's your children, your wife, your friends, your associates at work, someone is depending on you to take care of yourself," said head baseball coach for LSU, Paul Mainieri.

Mainieri was the keynote speaker Saturday, October 1 at the annual Men's Health Conference held at Pennington Biomedical Center.

The health event focuses on preventative screening for men, who on average live five years less than women. Each year, the conference provides free screenings and informational meetings to hundreds of area men.
