BAKER, LA (WAFB) - Residents were treated to a one-of-a-kind parade Friday afternoon as Baker High kicked off Homecoming weekend
Baker High and Middle school bands paraded through the city to get the homecoming celebration going. The senior and junior court graced the crowds with a little royalty and some sweet surprises.
For the children recovering from August's floods, this was everything.
"It's exciting. People just like getting away from the flood and stuff because I flooded out too, and it was sad but it's okay," said Kamrin Pitchers, who was a flood victim.
The Baker High Buffaloes take on Glen Oaks Friday night at 7 p.m. It will be the first time the team plays at home this season because of the flooding.
