BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The former LSU chancellor and current head of the NCAA was back on campus Thursday night for a lecture on being a leader during difficult times.
NCAA president Mark Emmert was in charge at LSU the last time the school fired a football coach, but said he was not going to weigh in on LSU's current coaching search.
"I'm not going to give folks advice on that, they're getting plenty of advice from everywhere in the country, and this is one of the great coaching jobs in America, and I'm very confident they'll find the right person for LSU, someone that fits LSU, and can do the things that are what the student-athletes here need and deserve," Emmert said.
Emmert was also responsible for the hiring of Nick Saban at LSU. He also oversaw the move of NCAA championship events from North Carolina in response to the state's controversial bathroom bill.
