LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Just after 9 a.m. on September 29, the Louisiana State Police responded to a two vehicle wreck on US 190 that claimed the life of a 68-year-old man.
The wreck occurred on US 190 west of LA 1026 in Livingston Parish. Harold Bergeron, 68, died as a result of the wreck.
The initial investigation revealed that Bergeron was traveling westbound on 190 in a 2015 GMC Sierra while Adam Andres, 33, of Independence, LA, was traveling eastbound in a 2015 Chevy Cruze. For unknown reasons, Bergeron began to make a left turn onto Grey Eagle Rd. into the path of Andres' vehicle. They collided head-on in the eastbound lane of 190.
Bergeron was properly restrained at the time of the crash, but sustained severe injuries nonetheless. He was transported to an area hospital, where he later died. Andres was also properly restrained and sustained serious injuries. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this incident, but toxicology samples will be taken for analysis.
