WALKER, LA (WAFB) - Walker High School and North Oaks Medical Center have launched something very forward and progressive for a high school.
School and hospital officials joined Walker coaches at a ribbon cutting for a sports medicine facility.
The sports medicine clinic will treat students but will also teach students.
"Students will learn how to tape, how to properly treat injuries; how to report injuries; how to do paperwork; HIPPA laws. And just like they would in the real world, they'll do the same thing and it gives them opportunities to work football games," said Walker principal Jason St. Pierre.
Walker also has a new athletic field house and weight room.
