BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Three Louisiana universities have been ranked in the Top 250 Colleges for University-Provided Part-Time Employment.
The study, published in the newsletter "Student Loan Report," determined the rankings based on information compiled by Peterson's Financial Aid Data. Of the 250 colleges and universities, three Louisiana universities ranked in the Top 60.
LSU ranked 3rd with approximately 4,685 university-provided part-time jobs, Southeastern ranked 58th with 1,093 jobs, and Louisiana Tech ranked 59th with 1,068 jobs.
These on-campus jobs are for students who are not affiliated with the Federal Work Study program and provides additional income for these students. Universities provide these jobs in an effort for the students to gain exposure to a professional work environment and learn valuable lessons in time management and multi-tasking, while the university benefits from additional part-time workers to enhance operations of offices throughout the university.
