DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help locating a suspect in connection with a possible home burglary along Enterprise Dr. in Denham Springs that occurred on Friday, September 23.
"Upon arrival, the suspect was gone. He fled after being spotted by an eye witness. He even chased this witness for a while before fleeing the neighborhood. This brave eye witness continues to work with my deputies," said Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard.
The witness described the suspect as a black male driving a white 2015 Nissan Versa with Louisiana license plate #ZSK-995.
"My deputies learned this vehicle was registered to someone in the Baton Rouge area. Through investigation, we soon had a name - Joshua Devahn Kinchen," said Ard.
Kinchen is wanted on several other charges, including looting, criminal trespassing, and reckless operation of a vehicle.
"The homeowner flooded. The family is in the process of rebuilding. The victim helped rescue citizens during the flood. We will not tolerate those who choose to take advantage of hardworking people in my parish. If you know anything, or you think you do, get involved," said Ard.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office at 225-686-2241 x1 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP (7867).
