FRENCH SETTLEMENT, LA (WAFB) - Officials in Livingston Parish have issued an urgent plea to the governor for funds to help fix a critical situation in one subdivision in French Settlement.
After the historic August flooding, the Cypress Point subdivision in French Settlement received significant damage.
Homes along the Amite River are experiencing substantial soil erosion, which is threatening the stability of other homes in the subdivision as well as those directly on the river.
The Livingston Parish Officer of Homeland Security made an urgent request to Gov. John Bel Edwards to help fix the situation. The letter can be read below:
