LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - A body found in a toolbox and a naked trespasser who was shot are connected, reports the Lafayette CBS affiliate KLFY.
Barrett Farabee II was shot and killed Friday, September 16 in the backyard of a home located in the 100 block of Fanny Street.
According to police, Farabee pulled out two guns and threatened the homeowner. The homeowner then shot and killed Farabee.
On Tuesday, Sept. 20, Lafayette Police located a body that was stuffed in a toolbox. The body was discovered in the 300 block of S. Wilderness Trail and has been identified as Alannah L. Montalvo, 23.
The Lafayette Police Department has confirmed Montalvo's body was found dismembered in a toolbox. Out of respect for the family of the victim, the condition of the body will not be elaborated upon by the police department. Officials were already investigating the whereabouts of Montalvo when a tip was forwarded through the Duson Police Department to the Lafayette Police Department. The information led to the discovery of the body and the connection between the suspect and the victim.
Police say Montalvo was in a relationship with Farabee. They believe he is responsible for Montalvo's death.
On Thursday, September 22, investigators located the vehicle sought in connection with the homicide, but it is not believed to have been involved in the crime.
